PSA/VPSA Oxygen Generators

The PSA Concept
Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technique is utilised to obtain Oxygen from atmospheric air Compressed air at about 4-6 bar, depending on the size of the unit is processed via. a compressor or from a compressed air network aalternatively in two towers equipped with special grade of Molecular Sieves (Adsorbers A and B). Through the pressure cange controlled electronically by valve block D, Nitrogen, moisture and Carbondioxide are adsorbed and desorbed.

In Adsorber A the incoming air is freed of N2, H2O & CO2, which are adsorbed by Molecular Sieves of tower A The outgoing oxygen is stored in buffer tank C. After a preset period, the process of adsorption automatically switches to Adsorber B. Whilst B is being filled, A is emptied by a pressur drop and venting to atmosphere. Venting with Oxygen from the other tower ensures that the Nitrogen and other impurities are completely removed from the Molecular Sieves.

 We manufacture PSA technology based Oxygen Generators of production capacity upto 200 NM3/hr. The product gas purity will be 93 to 95% Oxygen. These PSA Oxygen Generators are ideal for economic utilization in several areas. Because of their compact construction, these equipemnt require little space and can be erected practically anywhere without any special constructional meausre being required. Apart from compressed air supply a single phase power source is required for the operation of Sequence Programmer.

The VSA Concept
Vacuum Swing Adsorption (VSA) principle is utilised for the manufacturing of Oxygen Generators of capacities larger than 200 NM3/hr. In this case. Molecular Sieves are regenerated by creating vacuum inside the towers. Also VSA Systems consist of a 3 tower arrangement so that one tower is under adsorption cycle (O2 production cycle), the second tower under regenration (under vacuum) and the third tower undergoes, pressurization cycle. The three towers are interconnected with neumatically operated valves. The changeover of the tower takes place fully automatically by ON/OFF operation of valves with the help of a Sequence Programmer. In this way, Oxygen production would be continuous. An Oxygen compressor is utilised for obtained higher gas pressure for the purpose of Oxygen storage.

Oxygen purity from these VSA Oxygen Generators is 93 to 95%. The only utilities required for the operation of the equipment are power and cooling water.
